About cairobyplane.com
cairobyplane.com is an independent guide to day trips from Hurghada to Cairo and Giza, mainly the ones that fly you there and back on the same day. This page explains who runs it, how tours get onto the site and how it is paid for.
Who writes here
The site is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He researches and writes the pages himself and runs a small group of guides to day tours, among them Luxor and Petra trips for visitors on the Red Sea.
How tours are chosen
GetYourGuide is the source for every tour on this site. Only tours that can be booked today and have guest reviews are listed; tours without reviews, or with only a handful, stay off until they have more. Several listings on GetYourGuide carry the same title, such as "Full-Day Trip to Cairo by Plane", so each tour is tracked by its listing number, not its name. Where two listings look like the same tour, only the one with more and better reviews is shown. Bus tours appear only where they are compared with the flight.
How the site earns money
Booking links go to GetYourGuide. When you book through one of them, GetYourGuide pays a commission; your price stays the same. Comparison tables are sorted by number of reviews, not by commission, and the cheaper bus tours are shown next to the flights on the page that compares the two.
Where the facts come from
Prices, ratings and review counts are loaded from GetYourGuide once a day. Tour facts such as the museum, the pickup, the entry tickets and the cancellation terms come from the tour listings, read on the date given in the page code. Travel advice is quoted from the German Federal Foreign Office and the UK Foreign Office with the date it was checked, and flight facts from public route data. Where a listing leaves something open, the tables say "Not stated".
What this site is not
cairobyplane.com does not run tours, sells no tickets or flights itself and is not the website of an airline, a museum or a tour operator. For binding information on pickup times, flight times and cancellation, the booking confirmation and the operator count.
