The flights, a guide and lunch are part of every flight tour from Hurghada, so they do not separate the tours. The museum, which tickets the price covers, how much of the day goes to shops and what happens if you cancel do. Our verdict rests on those points, as the listings state them.
The museum
The Book Tour Egypt museum tour lets you choose the Grand Egyptian Museum or, from 6 people, the old museum on Tahrir Square. Ranco Travel Egypt plans close to three hours in the GEM, the longest slot we found. The royal mummies at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization are on one flight tour only, Book Tour Egypt's mummies tour, from 6 people. Which museum to choose.
Entry tickets and shop stops
Our first pick lists entry to Giza, the Sphinx and the museum as included, and so does the Ranco Travel Egypt tour, which also has no shopping stop in its itinerary. On the Nice Tours group flight tours, entry comes only with the option that includes it, so compare the option, not the lowest price. Most tours stop at a papyrus, perfume or alabaster shop, and that is where the reviews complain most. What each tour includes.
Cancellation
All our picks can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before. The FTS Travelss flight tour is non-refundable, which is why it is not among them although guests praise its guides; the two-day trip by plane can be cancelled free up to 3 days before.
Private or in a group
The private Nice Tours day gives your party its own driver and Egyptologist guide, with Giza, the museum on Tahrir Square and all entrance fees. One guest found the "bazaar" was a small shop, and another got the GEM on request instead of Tahrir, so agree on the plan before you go. If you can stay a night, the private two-day trip by plane adds Saqqara and Memphis. Two days in Cairo.
Families and slower travellers
Every flight tour is a day of 14 to 16 hours with a pickup before dawn. One guest on the Book Tour Egypt mummies tour found it unsuitable for children under 10, and the Book Tour Egypt museum tour does not allow strollers; reviewers of the Ranco Travel Egypt tour describe the guides as flexible with small children. The FTS Travelss tour states that it is not suitable for elderly travellers, and several listings exclude wheelchair users. The two-day trips spread the walking over two days.
On a tight budget, the bus
A bus tour costs roughly a quarter to a third of a flight tour and visits the same sights. The coach needs about 6 hours each way, leaves between about midnight and 2 in the morning and returns in the early hours of the following night. The German Federal Foreign Office advises against overland travel at night in Egypt (as of 2 November 2026). Check which entry tickets the bus option includes: on several of them the museum ticket comes only with the option that has it. Plane or bus compared.
