Entry tickets for Giza and the museum

Book Tour Egypt lists entry to the Giza plateau, the Sphinx and the museum on its museum tour, Ranco Travel Egypt lists Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, and the private Nice Tours tour has "all entrance fees". On the Book Tour Egypt mummies tour the museum is included, but Giza appears only as a "visit", not as a ticket. On the two Nice Tours group flight tours, museum entry (and on one of them all entry fees) comes only "if option selected". The FTS Travelss tour includes Giza and the Sphinx, and the museum only with a museum option. When a ticket is not included, you pay at the gate; two operators note that tickets bought on site must be paid by card, not cash.

The Grand Egyptian Museum raised its prices on 1 November 2026: Egyptian press reported 35 US dollars for a foreign adult, up from 30 (as of November 2026). Tour prices with GEM entry included may follow.

The inside of the pyramids

Walking into a pyramid is not part of any base price here. Book Tour Egypt excludes the burial chambers of Khufu and Khafre outright; Nice Tours and FTS Travelss sell the inside of a pyramid as an option. One guest on the FTS Travelss tour found that the guide changed her entrance ticket to a different pyramid without asking, so if you book the inside of the Great Pyramid, keep the confirmation at hand. Book Tour Egypt warns that the air inside can be stuffy, and several listings say their tours are not suitable for wheelchair users.

Shopping stops

Most listings plan time in shops, rarely in the title. Book Tour Egypt has a 30-minute shopping stop or a workshop visit in Giza, FTS Travelss two 30-minute stops at a papyrus institute and a shop called "King Ali palace", and the Nice Tours tours end at Khan el-Khalili with time to shop; on the private tour, one guest found the "bazaar" was a small shop rather than the market itself. Only the Ranco Travel Egypt itinerary lists no shopping stop. The listings call the shopping optional, but the stop still takes time from the museum or Giza, which is the most common complaint in the reviews.

Lunch, drinks and water

Lunch is included on every tour, often in a restaurant with a view of the pyramids. Drinks at the restaurant are usually extra. Book Tour Egypt adds 3 bottles of water per person, FTS Travelss bottled water, and the Nice Tours flight tours list soft drinks.

Camels, Nile boats and tips

A camel ride at Giza is not included on any tour here, not even on the private one whose teaser mentions it, and guides sometimes steer the group towards it; one guest was "nearly forced" onto one. Settle the price with the camel owner before you get on, or say no. A Nile boat trip or felucca ride is an extra-cost option on the Book Tour Egypt and Nice Tours tours. Tips are not included on any listing that mentions them, so carry small notes for the guide and the driver. The private Nice Tours listing also states that the Egyptian visa is not included.

A review on the spot

Several guests, on flight and bus tours, write that the guide asked for a review before the day was over, in one case handing over a phone with Wi-Fi in the van. Nothing obliges you to review during the trip; you can write it later from home, when you have seen the whole day.

Are the entry tickets included?

On the Book Tour Egypt museum tour, the Ranco Travel Egypt tour and the private Nice Tours tour, yes. On the Nice Tours group flight tours only with the option that includes them, and on the FTS Travelss tour the museum ticket comes with the museum option. The Book Tour Egypt mummies tour lists Giza as a visit, not as a ticket.

Can I go inside the Great Pyramid?

Not in any base price. Nice Tours and FTS Travelss sell it as an option; Book Tour Egypt excludes the burial chambers.

Do I have to buy something at the shopping stops?
